Browns extend RB Johnson

Cleveland running back DUKE JOHNSON signed a three-year contract extension with the Browns late last week. Johnson will join veteran running back CARLOS HYDE and rookie rusher NICK CHUBB in what looks to be a crowded backfield in Cleveland.

McKinnon headed to San Francisco

The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly signed free-agent running back JERICK MCKINNON to a four-year contract. McKinnon has a great chance to lead the 49ers backfield with fellow running back CARLOS HYDE taking his talents to Cleveland on Wednesday.

Hyde not facing suspension for fight

The 49ers traded up to select running back Joe Williams in the fourth round; new coach Kyle Shanahan told CNNSI's Peter King that he'd be sick if San Francisco didn't get him. Obviously teams are wrong on draft picks sometimes, but that enthusiasm coupled with some negative talk about Hyde makes Williams look pretty appealing in rookie drafts.   more »
