Panthers fire head coach Rivera

The Carolina Panthers fired head coach Ron Rivera on Tuesday, amid a four-game losing streak that dropped their record to 5-7 for the season. Rivera is the winningest coach in franchiseMore history, but that is mostly because he has been with the team since 2011. Secondary coach Perry Fewell will take over as interim head coach for the Panthers. Less

What team has gone the longest without having a 1,000-yard rusher? For the team in question, the player with the last 1,000-yard season is still active in the league. answer »

Around the NFL: Panthers Defense

The Carolina Panthers have locked up defensive tackle Kawann Short with a long-term deal, and that's big. The franchise tag would have only kept him around for one more year, and that's assuming he signed it at all. Now one of the league's best defensive linemen isn't going anywhere.   more »

Around the NFL: Jonathan Stewart

NFL contracts are hardly cast in stone and running backs even more so. But it looks like Jonathan Stewart can at least count on being Carolina's lead back in 2017, regardless of what happens in the NFL Draft.   more »
