Commanders not overly concerned with Wentz accuracy issues
Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera said recently that the team is not concerned about quarterback CARSON WENTZ’s accuracy issues during what has been and up-and-down training camp. Rivera said that… More there are “some inaccuracies” before adding that it’s nothing he is overly concerned about. Wentz has struggled with consistency and accuracy for much of his career, and it appears as though this season may be more of the same. Less

Factoid: Jahan Dotson
I saw a report go by where Carson Wentz was talking up the pass-catching ability of Jahan Dotson, and it reminds me of just how good the rookie’s hands are. There was some talk back in April and May of Dotson being the odd man out of the half dozen receivers selected in the first round, but I never bought into that at all. more »

Washington signs WR McLaurin to three-year extension
Washington Commanders wide receiver TERRY MCLAURIN agreed to a three-year extension worth roughly $71 million earlier this week. McLaurin was the 76th player drafted in 2019, selected behind 11 other wide… More receivers. McLaurin has excelled in his three years in the NFL, despite adjusting to eight different starting quarterbacks during that time. McLaurin gets another new quarterback for 2022, with the Commanders having added CARSON WENTZ during the offseason. Less

More catches in 2022 for Colts RB Taylor?
While it’s hard to imagine Indianapolis Colts running back JONATHAN TAYLOR improving upon his 2021 season, that’s exactly what could happen with new quarterback MATT RYAN in town. Indianapolis is likely… More to swing the run-pass ratio back toward the passing game with the upgrade from CARSON WENTZ to Ryan, with Taylor possibly getting more touches in the passing game. Two years into his career, Taylor has 76 catches – 36 as a rookie and 40 last season – with the sky as the limit heading into his third season. Less

Colts add star cornerback Gilmore
The Indianapolis Colts agreed to terms with five-time Pro Bowl cornerback STEPHON GILMORE on Friday on a two-year deal, locking up the former Bills, Patriots, and Panthers star after bringing him… More into town for a visit. The move is the second big offseason move for the Colts, who earlier traded starting quarterback CARSON WENTZ to Washington before eventually adding former Atlanta signal-caller MATT RYAN. Less

Fantasy News: QB carousel
It’s been a crazy offseason, particularly at the quarterback position. Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson are at new addresses, and there are some decent undercard items as well, with Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz in line to start for playoff-caliber teams. more »

Colts add veteran QB Ryan
The Indianapolis Colts traded a third-round pick earlier this week to obtain veteran quarterback MATT RYAN from the Atlanta Falcons. Indianapolis has cycled through quarterbacks since the unexpected retirement of Andrew… More Luck in 2019. Since that time, the Colts have turned to JACOBY BRISSETT, PHILIP RIVERS, CARSON WENTZ, and now on to Ryan. Ryan, who will be 37 in May, wants to play out his contract – which runs through the 2023 season. Less

Around the NFL: Colts land Matt Ryan
Heading into last year, I didn’t like the move up to 14 teams qualifying for the postseason. But after yet another notable quarterback move, it’s looking like the AFC will have no problems coming up with seven quality playoff teams. The Colts, having just landed Matt Ryan, look like a playoff team – perhaps the favorites in the AFC South. more »

Around the NFL: Cleveland Browns
Baker Mayfield, by all accounts, is done in Cleveland. He posted what felt like a goodbye on social media last night, with the Browns moving to potentially land Deshaun Watson. Even if those attempts fall short, the team seems like it will be moving onto to a new quarterback. more »

Around the NFL: Third time a charm?
Washington has traded for Carson Wentz, and he'll be their starting quarterback in 2022. Will the third time be a charm for him? Things ended badly (after promising starts) at his first two stops, with a benching in Philadelphia and late-season meltdown for the Colts. more »

Wentz era to commence in Washington
The Washington Commanders reportedly agreed on Wednesday to acquire quarterback CARSON WENTZ from the Indianapolis Colts for a package of draft picks. The trade cannot be made official until the new… More league year starts next Wednesday, but it appears to be a done deal. Wentz, the second overall pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016, is now on his third team after spending just one year with the Colts. Less

Garoppolo undergoes successful shoulder surgery
San Francisco quarterback JIMMY GAROPPOLO had successful shoulder surgery this week and he is expected to be throwing a football well ahead of training camp. The main question now is where… More Garoppolo will be throwing. Garoppolo is still expected to be traded at some point this offseason, although the shoulder surgery does complicate his situation somewhat. With AARON RODGERS staying in Green Bay and RUSSELL WILSON and CARSON WENTZ finding new teams, Garoppolo is likely near the top of the list of potential targets for teams still searching for a quarterback upgrade. Around the NFL: Kenny Pickett
The long-awaited hand measurements for Kenny Pickett are in, and they’re even worse than expected – just 8.5 inches. That’s T-Rex small, and will scare off some teams. more »

Carson Wentz, if reports are accurate, isn’t going to get a second season with the Colts. They’ve seen enough to conclude that he’s not the quarterback they’re looking for. more »
