Lions OC Johnson expecting offense to take “a huge step forward”

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson said recently that he expects the offense to take “a huge step forward in terms of growth and knowledge base” heading into the upcoming 2023More season. Head coach Dan Campbell added that he’s loved Johnson’s game plan this spring of getting back to the basics with the goal of doing everything they did well last season even better this season. Factoid: Veteran coaches

Of the seven head coaches hired in the offseason, only one has been an NFL head coach before (kneecap biting Dan Campbell). Yet I noticed that most of the teams that have won Super Bowls in recent decades have been coached by men who previously were head coaches with other franchises.   more »
