Bills to feature running back committee

With running back LESEAN MCCOY no longer in town, the Buffalo Bills are expected to move forward with a backfield committee featuring rookie DEVIN SINGLETARY, veteran FRANK GORE, and T.J. YELDON. Head coach Sean McDermott praised Singletary earlier this week, and the rookie could benefit the most from McCoy’s departure.

RB Yeldon sees heated competition in Buffalo backfield

The Buffalo Bills head into the 2019 season with a crowded backfield, including LESEAN MCCOY, FRANK GORE, and T.J. YELDON. While Yeldon will likely start the season behind his veteran counterparts,More he said recently that he expects a “heated competition” heading into the season. While Yeldon has shown flashes, he has been mostly a disappointment through his first four seasons. Bills release RB Ivory

The Buffalo Bills released veteran running back CHRIS IVORY after an underwhelming season as LESEAN MCCOY’s backup in 2018. Veteran free agent FRANK GORE was signed earlier this month and will likely take over the backup role with Ivory moving on.

Gore likely done for season

Miami running back FRANK GORE suffered a sprained foot that is expected to sideline him for the remainder of the season. Gore had started 122 consecutive games, but that streak will come to an end. KENYAN DRAKE and rookie KALEN BALLAGE are likely to see increased workloads in Gore’s absence.
