Steelers WR Johnson likely to miss 4 weeks
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DIONTAE JOHNSON will reportedly miss up to four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the team’s season opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers. With Johnson,… More the team’s top wideout, out of action it will be up to fellow wide receiver GEORGE PICKENS to lead the receiving corps. In addition, expectations will increase for veteran slot receiver ALLEN ROBINSON and speedy wideout CALVIN AUSTIN III. Less

Factoid: Efficient receivers
George Pickens and DeVante Parker were discussed on the website this week. Both finished at the 2nd-most productive receivers on their teams last year, but both averaged over 2 more yards per pass play than their team’s No. 1 guys. more »

Factoid: Touchdown passes
While discussing George Pickens and Diontae Johnson (pictured) this week, the glaring weakness from Pittsburgh last year was touchdown passes. They threw just 12, which is a pitiful number. I said I thought they should throw at least 20 this season, and I still believe that, but some support for that belief is in order. more »

Factoid: George Pickens
While working on another item, I noticed a striking disparity between the Steelers' main wideouts last year. George Pickens and Diontae Johnson had a similar number of receiving yards, but in every other respect they were a lot different. Pickens was a lot more efficient, and productive, with his opportunities. more »

Around the NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers acquired Allen Robinson from the Rams yesterday. I don't think it's a particularly exciting acquisition; we've got two years of evidence to say it's over for the former star. But it's a cheap enough flier, and he's joining an offense that's headed in the right direction. more »

Factoid: Rookie receivers
I think we should all be drafting rookie receivers a little earlier. There’s risk involved, and I see plenty of slow starters, but I also see a bunch of them outperforming where there were chosen. more »

Steelers WR Pickens ejected late vs. Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver GEORGE PICKENS had a nice fantasy game on Sunday but he finished the game poorly, being ejected after spearing Cincinnati wide receiver TYLER BOYD on a late… More onside kick attempt. While a fine is likely in order for Pickens as a result of the play and the ejection, a suspension is less likely and he should be available for fantasy owners when the Steelers play next Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts.
