The Jaguars released Tyler Eifert yesterday. The 30-year-old will likely catch on with some other team, playing as part of a tandem (to keep him healthy) and having the occasional game with 3 receptions for 30 yards, with a touchdown once every 5 or 6 games. The Jaguars have signed former Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert, and it's a pairing that makes a lot of sense considering player strength and team need. Eifert, when healthy, has been one of the league's better tight ends at getting in the end zone, while Jacksonville has been the league's worst team at throwing touchdowns to those players.   more »

Rookie tight ends don't often make an impact, but Jacksonville coach Doug Marrone is pleased by what he's seen out of the rookie so far.
