Factoid: Kickers

Kansas City plays at Baltimore on Sunday, with a Super Bowl berth on the line. If it’s a close game, with a field goal deciding it at the end, both teams will be confident sending out their kicker.   more »

What’s the deal with kickers? It seems like they’re way more susceptible to injuries than they used to be.  more »

Factoid: Long-range FGs

I notice that teams are connecting more often on long field goals. In my first 10 years playing fantasy football, there was one successful field goal from 60-plus yards. In the last two years, there have been 9 such kicks.   more »

Seahawks sign kicker Myers to four-year deal

The Seattle Seahawks announced on Wednesday that they have signed Pro Bowl kicker JASON MYERS to a new four-year contract that will make him the second-highest paid kicker in the NFL.More Myers will make more than any kicker in the NFL on a per-year basis other than Baltimore Ravens kicker JUSTIN TUCKER. Myers, who turns 32 in May, tied the Seahawks record with 34 field goals in 2022, also setting a career high. Myers hit 91.9 percent of his field goals (missing only three), which was good for fifth-best in the league. Less

Factoid: Graham Gano

Playing around with some of the numbers, I notice that Graham Gano has been helped by a sputtering offense the last two years, with the Giants producing a lot more field goals than touchdowns.  more »

Tucker leads Ravens over Lions with record FG

Baltimore kicker JUSTIN TUCKER hit an NFL-record 66-yard field goal as time expired and the Ravens beat the Detroit Lions on Sunday. If your fantasy league awards bonus points for longMore field goals, there should be a little something extra for Tucker’s efforts on Sunday. Tucker kicked four total field goals in the win, adding chip-shots from 32, 39, and 50 yards before his game winning 66-yarder. Less

Crosby hit 22 of 24 field goals and all but one extra point during the 2019 season. Less

Factoid: Extra points

The NFL moved extra points back by 13 yards back in 2015, and I really like the change. Previously, PATs were almost meaningless; only a few would be missed all year. Now the success rate tends to hover around 94 percent, with key misses showing up from time to time.   more »

Factoid: Position on the rise

I notice that kickers are scoring more points than they have in the past. They’re more accurate, they have better range, and teams are getting them on the field more often.   more »

Fantasy News: Dynasty kicker rankings

I’ve been including dynasty rankings in the product every Thursday. That’s a permanent fixture in the process now – audit and adjust those in the middle of each week. But they don’t include kickers, which are kind of different animal.   more »

Factoid: Kickers

I believe Stephen Gostkowski and Justin Tucker will be the first two kickers taken. Those are the top 2 on my board. And of those guys, I give Gostkowski a big edge.  more »
