There's not much happening in the NFL right now, until it happens. So it was that just as we were putting the latest preseason update to bed last night, the news came out that Seattle's top 2 running backs were hurt. Hope you don't have a draft tonight.   more »

Factoid: Kenneth Walker

We've discussed (argued about) Kenneth Walker some here in recent weeks. He had a productive rookie season, but Seattle drafted Zach Charbonnet in the second round. A wide range of possibilities for Seattle's backfield exists, including a featured Walker, a one-two punch, or Charbonnet being better.   more »

Around the NFL: Zach Charbonnet

The Seahawks drafted Zach Charbonnet in the second round, and that's mildly worrying for those who roster Kenneth Walker. Early camp reports have been favorable on the rookie, including one from the News-Tribune yesterday.   more »

Factoid: Grab a Penny stock

Seahawks RB Walker expected to play tonight vs. 49ers on TNF

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said on Wednesday that rookie running back KENNETH WALKER looked “really quick” following practice, adding that he was pleased with Walker’s progress returning from anMore ankle injury. Walker was a full participant in practice on Tuesday and Wednesday, and he was not listed on the game status report for tonight’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. Walker will have a tough test tonight against a 49ers team allowing the fewest yards per carry in the NFL (3.4). Less

Seahawks RB Walker has “jammed” ankle

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll was somewhat vague on Monday regarding rookie running back KENNETH WALKER’s ankle injury. Carroll said that Walker’s ankle is sore, adding that “he has anMore area that he jammed”. While fantasy owners are left wondering what exactly a “jammed” ankle entails, Carroll did clarify that the injury was not a high ankle sprain or a lateral sprain. Fantasy owners will want to monitor Walker’s status throughout the week leading up to Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Less

Factoid: Rookie running backs

It’s perhaps early to be drawing definitive conclusions, but rookie running backs are looking strong. Breece Hall and Kenneth Walker look like they’re going to have good careers.   more »

Around the NFL: Running backs, at last

No running backs were selected in Round 1 of the NFL Draft, which wasn't a huge surprise. Some thought 1-2 might slip in late in the round, but it wasn't to be. But those backs -- Iowa State's Breece Hall, Michigan State's Kenneth Walker -- did go in last night's second round, and four more were gone by the end of Day 2.   more »
