WR Lee ready for fresh start with Patriots

Wide receiver MARQISE LEE is eager to put the last two injury-riddled seasons behind him as he looks forward to a fresh start with the New England Patriots. Lee missed allMore of 2018 after suffering a torn ACL, MCL, and PCL in an exhibition game. His 2019 campaign lasted just six games because of a shoulder injury. If Lee can stay healthy, the Patriots could end up with one of the best bargains of the free agent season. Less

Around the NFL: Donte Moncrief

Some might say the preseason hasn't knocked out very many key players, but keep in mind that's because so few of them are actually playing. Will be interesting to see how and if the league reacts to teams like the Rams making a mockery of the exhibitions by holding out virtually everyone who might actually play in Week 1. Anyhoo, the Jaguars might wish they'd taken a similar approach before losing Marqise Lee last night.   more »

Around the NFL: Jacksonville receivers

Jacksonville’s wide receivers, I think, are the most confusing positional group in the league. Lots of different candidates, and it’s hard to lock in on any one guy with any confidence he’ll even be one of the top 2 on his own team.   more »

Factoid: Jacksonville receivers

I haven't really understood what Jacksonville was doing with its wide receivers. The Jaguars first gave Donte Moncrief a lot of money, and then drafted D.J. Chark in the second round. They already had Marqise Lee, Dede Westbrook and Keelan Cole, who I thought were all pretty good last year. What gives?  more »

Jaguars make cuts, save money

The Jacksonville Jaguars cut wide receiver ALLEN HURNS and tight end MARCEDES LEWIS this week, saving $10.5 million in the process. The Jaguars look to be moving forward with re-signed wideoutMore MARQISE LEE, newcomer DONTE MONCRIEF, and second-year players DEDE WESTBROOK and KEELAN COLE. New tight end AUSTIN SEFERIAN-JENKINS made the veteran Lewis expendable. Less

Around the NFL: Sunday morning injury updates

Bills-Jaguars kicks off in about 90 minutes. LeSean McCoy (ankle) is officially active, and so is Marqise Lee (ankle). But maybe even bigger news is the possibility that those who gambled on Antonio Brown in leagues where playoff rosters locked yesterday will be rewarded with a healthy player.   more »

Around the NFL: Hurns looking to bounce back

I will be interested to see what Allen Hurns looks like tonight in the Jaguars-Bucs games. What kind of condition is he in? And will he even make Jacksonville’s 53-man roster?  more »

Around the NFL: Marqise Lee out, Fournette in question

We'd been kicking around the idea of the Jaguars cutting Allen Hurns. He has a big contract, and on performance and ability is probably the team's No. 3 wideout behind Allen Robinson and Marqise Lee, the latter of whom comes off a breakout campaign. But put that talk on hold for now.   more »

Fournette, Lee expected to miss Thursday preseason game

Jacksonville coach Doug Marrone confirmed that he will likely hold out both injured wide receiver MARQISE LEE and rookie running back LEONARD FOURNETTE from practice this week and from the JaguarsMore preseason game Thursday night. Lee suffered a high ankle sprain and was seen in a protective boot while walking with a crutch on Monday. Fournette has a “nagging” foot injury but was not spotted with a boot or a crutch, which is at least mildly reassuring to fantasy owners. Less
