Patriots place WR Harry on injured reserve

The New England Patriots placed perennial fantasy breakout candidate and wide receiver N’KEAL HARRY on injured reserve on Wednesday, meaning that he will miss at least the first three weeks of the 2021 season. Harry has not played since suffering a shoulder injury in New England’s second preseason game.

Patriots WR Harry requests trade

New England wide receiver N’KEAL HARRY has formally requested a trade via his agent earlier this week. Harry has been a bust thus far in both fantasy football and the realMore version after being selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2019 draft. Harry’s agent said that expectations have not changed since his client was drafted as an “unstoppable downfield threat” out of college, adding that “success is just around the corner”. Fantasy owners might be wise to let Harry’s agent select his client in upcoming fantasy drafts. Less

Around the NFL: N'Keal Harry

So N'Keal Harry has formally requested a trade from the New England Patriots. This is interesting, in that Harry and his agent are apparently oblivious to the fact that the Patriots have, by various reports, been trying to trade him for the past year or more. We can find a couple of highlight plays he made as a rookie, but by any measure he's been a bust.   more »

Around the NFL: Patriots wideouts

Couple of items about New England wide receivers recently. While former first-rounder N'Keal Harry is fighting for a roster spot, former undrafted free agent Jakobi Meyers is in the mix to be the team's No. 1. A stark reminder that while the Patriots can't draft wideouts, they've had some success uncovering undrafted guys.   more »

Factoid: N'Keal Harry

At what point do we give up on N’Keal Harry? The Patriots selected him with the final pick in the first round of the 2019 draft, but he hasn’t done much in his first two seasons. Is there any chance of him turning things around?  more »

Factoid: First-round receivers

I’m not a big fan of rookie wide receivers. There were a bunch of them selected early this year, but I think that for the vast majority of those guys, the payoff seasons will come in the future. The odds are stacked against players at this position hitting it big right away.   more »

Factoid: Late first-round wideouts

It's been an interesting couple of weeks for wideouts selected late in the first round -- both in 2019, and recent years. N'Keal Harry is on IR. Josh Doctson and Laquon Treadwell (2016 vintage) were released in final cutdowns. And Marquise Brown just won some fantasy matchups (or frustrated teams by blowing up from their bench). So did Phillip Dorsett (2015).   more »

Patriots place WR Harry on IR, bring back Thomas

The New England Patriots placed rookie wide receiver N’KEAL HARRY on injured reserve as he continues to battle an ankle injury. He will be eligible to return in Week #9, andMore the Patriots reportedly plan on him playing this season. In a corresponding move, New England signed veteran wideout DEMARYIUS THOMAS, just days after cutting him. Thomas, 31, is coming off his second torn Achilles but he has had an impressive preseason. Around the NFL: Patriots wide receivers

While most of yesterday's biggest moves involved division rivals (to use the term loosely) Buffalo and Miami, the Patriots made some interesting roster moves. And there might be more yet to come, further streamlining what had been a complicated receiving corps.   more »

Edelman returns to practice

New England wide receiver JULIAN EDELMAN returned to practice on Monday, after passing his physical and being removed from the non-football injury list. Rookie first-round pick N’KEAL HARRY and veterans PHILLIPMore DORSETT and MARURICE HARRIS returned as well. JOSH GORDON also made his practice debut, although he was not in pads and he only participated in some stretching activities. Less

Factoid: N'Keal Harry

I haven’t seen him on the field yet in a game, but as the preseason reports roll in, I’m getting more confident N’Keal Harry won’t be a big factor this year. I’m not particularly confident he’ll ever be a big star.   more »

Factoid: Late first-round wideouts

I drafted N'Keal Harry (pictured; I have no idea why he's wearing No. 50, which he won't be allowed to wear in games) early in a rookie draft this year, but not with great enthusiasm. The Patriots haven't had a lot of success drafting wideouts over the years, and a lot of players at the position taken at the end of the first round this century haven't turned out particularly well. At all.   more »
