Around the NFL: O.J. Howard

Bruce Arians is the new coach in Tampa Bay, and that's a good news, bad news situation for O.J. Howard. On the one hand, Arians has had a lot of success drawing up strong offenses, in Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Arizona. On the other hand, as Ian's posted recently, those offenses haven't produced a lot of viable tight ends -- the list pretty much begins and ends with Heath Miller over the years.   more »

Fantasy News: Tampa tight ends

I am leery of O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. Nice players, but I worry that they won’t be used enough.   more »

Factoid: O.J. Howard

I’m interested to see what happens with O.J. Howard in Tampa Bay. Bruce Arians doesn’t have much of a history with tight ends, but he’s never had a player with that kind of athleticism at the position.  more »

Factoid: O.J. Howard

Jameis Winston is talking up rookie tight end O.J. Howard. He thinks the team's first-round pick will be "amazing." The history, though, makes it a lot more likely that will happen in a future season -- not 2017.   more »

Factoid: Rookie tight ends

There’s some buzz with the three rookie tight ends selected in the first round – O.J. Howard, Evan Engram and David Njoku. This is the time of year where assistant coaches make comments about how ‘so-and-so is really standing out’ at practice, with those quotes than cycling through the various channels on the internet, strengthening the mistaken idea that any of them is likely to do much of anything this year.   more »

Rookie TE Howard off to great start

Tampa Bay rookie tight end O.J. HOWARD took part in the Bucs’ first rookie minicamp and head coach Dirk Koetter says he can do everything the team needs a tight endMore to do. Koetter’s system is very similar to the offense that Howard worked in at Alabama as well. Time will tell if the rookie has a negative impact on the fantasy value of fellow tight end CAMERON BRATE.
