Around the NFL: Darius Slayton

Darius Slayton caught my eye yesterday, saying in an article in the New York Post that he considers himself to be a No. 1 receiver. That’s bold talk from a receiver who’s never had an 800-yard season. But I will concede that Slayton made the most of his opportunities last year.  more »

Giants WR Slayton sees himself as possible WR1

New York Giants wide receiver DARIUS SLAYTON said recently that he believes he can be the go-to target in a wide receiving corps that is generally seen as lacking a trueMore WR1 option. Slayton, who re-signed with the Giants this offseason, is part of a crowded wideout room in New York that also includes STERLING SHEPARD, WAN’DALE ROBINSON, ISAIAH HODGINS, PARRIS CAMPBELL, JAMISON CROWDER, and third-round pick JALIN HYATT (among others). While Slayton’s confidence is admirable, fantasy owners will want to monitor the situation throughout training camp and the preseason. Less

Campbell noted that due to his background in high school and college, the backfield reps were nothing new. Meanwhile, expected backfield starter SAQUON BARKLEY continues his holdout. Less

Around the NFL: Giants wide receivers

Looking at the Giants offense, I'm perplexed as to who their top wide receiver will be. They have a lot of different guys who have done stuff in the past, and several guys who they're hoping will do stuff in the future. But hard to be confident any will do it this year.   more »

Around the NFL: Golden Tate

Story this weekend with Golden Tate saying he looking at signing with a handful of teams, mentioning the Colts, Rams and Titans as potential landing spots. It's not clear if the feeling is mutual with any of these teams. Fantasy-wise, a Tate signing would be a negative for the young wideouts on those rosters, and wouldn't necessarily translate into fantasy relevance for him.   more »
