Morris has breakout game on Thursday night
Dallas running back ALFRED MORRIS, filling-in for suspended teammate EZEKIEL ELLIOTT, made his fantasy owners proud in Thursday night’s win over Washington. Morris managed a season-high 27 carries and had his first 100-yard game with the Cowboys. He also added a touchdown, capping a breakout game against his former team.

McFadden announces retirement
Running back DARREN MCFADDEN was waived by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. On Tuesday, McFadden announced his retirement after 10 seasons in the NFL. McFadden was expected to contribute with EZEKIEL… More ELLIOTT suspended but it was ALFRED MORRIS that was utilized more instead. We wish Mr. McFadden the best in his retirement. Less

Around the NFL: Ezekiel Elliott suspension is on
The Ezekiel Elliott suspension saga appears to be coming to a close. He won’t play on Sunday in Atlanta, and most likely he’ll miss all of the team’s next six games. There’s a slim, Hail Mary type chance his legal team will get a new injunction in place, but most likely Elliott won’t step on a field again until Week 16. more »

Around the NFL: Elliott back in for Cowboys
Even by convoluted legal wrangling standards, this is a little ridiculous. A brief administrative stay of Ezekiel Elliott's 6-game suspension has been granted. That means it's back on hold, and Elliott will be on the field for the Cowboys in Week 9. more »

Morris expected to start for Cowboys
With Dallas running back EZEKIEL ELLIOTT currently suspended, Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan said that ALFRED MORRIS will “probably” get the start at running back on Sunday against Kansas City. Morris… More may get the start but the team will likely involve ROD SMITH and DARREN MCFADDEN as well, making the new backfield in Dallas a crowded one. Less

Cowboys preparing for life without Elliott
For the Dallas Cowboys and running back EZEKIEL ELLIOTT’s fantasy owners, it’s time to move on. With Elliott most likely out for Sunday’s game against Washington, the Cowboys plan to use… More a trio of running backs in his place. Head coach Jason Garrett confirmed on Wednesday that the team will use ALFRED MORRIS, DARREN MCFADDEN, and ROD SMITH while keeping the offense basically the same. Less

Around the NFL: Jones gives nod to Morris if Elliott out
The Ezekiel Elliott suspension is back on, at least until another appeal delays it again. But at this point, that seems less likely to happen; best guess is that Elliott will need to sit out the next six games. Jerry Jones indicates that those who banked on Alfred Morris as the replacement will be the winners. more »

Ian Allan answers your fantasy football questions. In this edition, it's roster adjustment time. When should we give up on underperformers like Marvin Jones and Hunter Henry? And when is it time to take a flyer on guys who aren't even on the field right now (Will Fuller, Josh Gordon)? And is this Adam Thielen guy going to be putting up 100-plus yards every week? more »

Cowboys sign veteran RB Hillman
The Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran running back RONNIE HILLMAN to provide depth in their backfield. Hillman has some third-down running back traits and it’s likely he will be used in… More that type of role. After starter EZEKIEL ELLIOTT, the Cowboys appear to have solid depth with DARREN MCFADDEN and ALFRED MORRIS also on board. Less

Cowboys work out running backs Robinson, Hillman
While the Dallas Cowboys wait to hear the fate of running back EZEKIEL ELLIOTT, the team worked out former Jaguar DENARD ROBINSON and former Bronco RONNIE HILLMAN. Dallas lost LANCE DUNBAR… More to the Rams this offseason but they still have DARREN MCFADDEN and ALFRED MORRIS on the roster as backups. It’s hard to imagine either Robinson or Hillman making much of a fantasy impact with the depth on the current roster in Dallas. Less

Factoid: No. 1 and No. 2 running backs
Those looking for handcuff backs can consider Darren McFadden in Dallas, as he's expected to be the No. 2 behind Ezekiel Elliott. Last year's No. 2 for much of the season, Alfred Morris, has reportedly been shopped. He's no lock to make the 53-man roster, which isn't surprising when you look at the numbers. more »

Factoid: Rookie running backs
I have been looking into the later-round running backs, trying to gauge if there’s a hidden gem there. Mike Anderson and Alfred Morris, recall, were selected in the sixth round. Are we overdue for another one of those guys? more »
