Jaguars release veteran RB Hyde after one season

The Jacksonville Jaguars released veteran running back CARLOS HYDE after just one season with the team. Hyde was deemed expendable despite the fact that Jacksonville’s top two running backs – JAMESMore ROBINSON and TRAVIS ETIENNE – are recovering from serious injuries. Time will tell where Hyde lands, although he is not likely to have much interest among fantasy owners - unless former Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer happens to be in your league. Less

Jaguars place RB Hyde on injured reserve

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed veteran running back CARLOS HYDE on injured reserve on Tuesday. With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, Hyde is done for the year. Hyde sufferedMore a concussion in Week #14 against Tennessee and missed Sunday’s game against Houston. With former coach Urban Meyer out of the picture and Hyde out for the season, it is reasonably safe for fantasy owners to assume that running back JAMES ROBINSON will lead the backfield for the next three games. Jaguars re-sign RB Ogunbowale

The Jacksonville Jaguars re-signed 26-year-old running back DARE OGUNBOWALE on Tuesday. If Ogunbowale makes the roster in 2021, he’s likely to have little appeal or opportunity behind starting running back JAMES ROBINSON and newly acquired veteran backup CARLOS HYDE.

Around the NFL: No. 2 running backs

I wonder if the Packers have any misgivings about the contract they just gave Aaron Jones. Great back and important to get him back, but the running back market hasn't really developed. Seems they could have potentially let him test the market and then brought him back at a lower price. Most of the free agent signings have been No. 2 types.   more »

Around the NFL: Seattle running backs

A recent story in The Athletic considered Seattle unlikely to re-sign free agent running back Chris Carson. The writer doesn't expect Carson to sign a long-term deal for less money annually than the franchise tag would pay him. I think he's right that Seattle won't pay Carson that kind of coin, not as certain that Carson believes he can make that much on the open market. A reunion is still possible.   more »
