Bears WR Claypool’s status in doubt vs. Bucs
Chicago Bears wide receiver CHASE CLAYPOOL had a lackluster performance in the team’s season opener against the Green Bay Packers and he could be in jeopardy of being inactive for this… More Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. Claypool was targeted just twice against the Packers, with both passes resulting in incompletions. Claypool also drew criticism for a lack of effort blocking and multiple missed assignments. Chicago head coach Matt Eberflus left all options on the table when asked if the Bears would consider making Claypool inactive against the Bucs, saying that the team is “looking at all possibilities”. Take note, fantasy owners. Less

Chicago head… More coach Matt Eberflus did not seem concerned when asked about Claypool’s status, saying simply that his wideout was “dealing with a few things right now”. Factoid: DJ Moore
I like Chicago’s decision to obtain DJ Moore in that blockbuster trade involving the No. 1 overall pick. Carolina originally selected him with the 24th pick of the 2018 draft, and if teams knew how he would develop, he would have gone even earlier. more »

Bears WR Claypool remains a work in progress
Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus said this week that wide receiver CHASE CLAYPOOL is “getting there”, before adding that his new wideout remains a work in progress. The Bears acquired… More Claypool at the trade deadline to help bolster a talent-poor receiver room, but Claypool has just 12 catches on 22 targets for 111 yards and no touchdowns through five games with the Bears. With the fantasy football playoffs upon us, now would be an ideal time for Claypool to take the next step with his new team. Less

Steelers WR Claypool declares himself “top-three receiver”
If Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver CHASE CLAYPOOL plays fantasy football, his draft board may look a bit different than most. Claypool said on a podcast yesterday that “I know I’m a… More top-three receiver”. While Claypool admitted that he left some plays on the field last season, he added that he will grow from the experience and those lessons learned will be the foundation of the success he foresees heading into the 2022 season. While Claypool’s confidence is admirable, fantasy owners would be wise to remember that he will most likely be catching passes from MITCH TRUBISKY this year. Less

Factoid: Second-year receivers
When a receiver shows potential as a rookie (like CeeDee Lamb or Chase Claypool last year) the tendency is to assume he’ll be better in Year No. 2 – he’ll be more knowledgeable and confident. But that doesn’t show up as strongly as you might think with the numbers. more »

JuJu Smith-Schuster re-signed with the Steelers, and that keeps together one of the league’s most unusual trifectas of wide receivers. He, Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool all had over 800 yards last year, but none of them made it to 1,000. more »
