Jaguars RB Robinson not rushing return from injury

Jacksonville Jaguars running back JAMES ROBINSON said this week that he is “not trying to rush anything” in his recovery from an Achilles injury suffered in Week #16 last season. TheMore Jaguars reportedly do not expect Robinson to be ready for training camp when it kicks off next month. At this point in the offseason, TRAVIS ETIENNE and rookie SNOOP CONNER look set to be the top Jaguars backs until Robinson is cleared to return. Less

Around the NFL: Travis Etienne

Travis Etienne looks like one of the winners of the June minicamps. Heading into training camp, it’s clear he’s the favorite to be the most productive of the Jacksonville running backs. He’s more of a No. 1 running back rather than a sleeper who has any chance of making it into the later rounds.  more »

Jaguars release veteran RB Hyde after one season

The Jacksonville Jaguars released veteran running back CARLOS HYDE after just one season with the team. Hyde was deemed expendable despite the fact that Jacksonville’s top two running backs – JAMESMore ROBINSON and TRAVIS ETIENNE – are recovering from serious injuries. Time will tell where Hyde lands, although he is not likely to have much interest among fantasy owners - unless former Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer happens to be in your league. Less

Jaguars RB Etienne working his way back from Lisfranc injury

Jacksonville Jaguars running back TRAVIS ETIENNE missed his rookie season in the NFL after suffering a Lisfranc injury during the preseason, but he is working his way back and appears toMore be on track for the start of the upcoming season. Etienne said recently that his foot is “doing much better”, adding that he is getting to the 80 to 85 percent range. With fellow running back JAMES ROBINSON coming back from a torn Achilles, the Jaguars will need Etienne sooner than later. Less

Around the NFL: Jacksonville running backs

The Jaguars had the worst record in the league last year, but they've got a franchise quarterback to build around, and some nice draft picks (and a brand new coaching staff) to get things headed in the right direction. One of the questions is how the backfield will shape up.   more »

Jaguars place RB Hyde on injured reserve

The Jacksonville Jaguars placed veteran running back CARLOS HYDE on injured reserve on Tuesday. With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, Hyde is done for the year. Hyde sufferedMore a concussion in Week #14 against Tennessee and missed Sunday’s game against Houston. With former coach Urban Meyer out of the picture and Hyde out for the season, it is reasonably safe for fantasy owners to assume that running back JAMES ROBINSON will lead the backfield for the next three games. Factoid: Dead cat bounce

The Jaguars fired Urban Meyer, and that makes me feel better about how that offense might perform this week. I think a coaching change might spark that offense to some degree.   more »

Jaguars fire head coach Meyer

The Jacksonville Jaguars have fired head coach Urban Meyer and will hand the head coaching gig to Darrell Bevell for the remainder of the 2021 season. Bevell commented specifically on running back JAMES ROBINSON during his initial press conference. Bevell said that Robinson “is our starting running back, and he will be played as such”. The Jaguars host the Houston Texans and their league-worst rushing defense on Sunday. Less

Jaguars appear to have no idea what they are doing with RB Robinson

Jacksonville Jaguars running back JAMES ROBINSON said he felt that he was “benched” after an early fumble in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach Urban Meyer, however, saidMore after the game that Robinson’s absence was injury related. The injury claim seems odd considering the Jaguars put Robinson back in the game with the team trailing by 30 points and the outcome no longer in doubt. Fantasy owners relying on Robinson down the stretch may want to think twice if other options are available. Less

Fantasy News: Thursday night recap

It’s not quite the Lions or Cowboys hosting games on Thanksgiving, but the tradition seems to be for Cincinnati to host an early-season undercard-type game in Prime Time. Sneak it in there early, I think, while viewers are willing to watch any game that has a ball with “NFL” stamped on the side. Six years in a row the Bengals have played in September in the Monday or Thursday slot.  more »
