Around the NFL: Cordarrelle Patterson

A while back I published something skeptical about Jaylen Warren, concerned that he wouldn't get enough weekly touches while splitting time with Najee Harris. Looks like Pittsburgh might be going one step further in complicating this backfield, having now signed Cordarrelle Patterson.   more »

Factoid: Jaylen Warren

I have Jaylen Warren in a dynasty league. I'd like to trade him. Good player -- arguably the better of Pittsburgh's two running backs -- but it doesn't look like this committee will go away anytime soon.   more »

Factoid: Ground and pound

Here we go again? The Steelers had the most improved running game in the league last year, averaging 51 more yards in the second half of the season, and with 3 times as many touchdowns. So with them rushing for 166 and 205 yards in their last two games, I can’t help but wonder if they’re going to do it again.   more »

Andy Richardson: Thursday Night Recap

The Steelers are having an interesting season. It's sort of like the Vikings a year ago -- winning a lot of close games, not really looking good in any of them. They did it again last night, making enough plays to sneak by Tennessee, 20-16.   more »

No RB controversy in Pittsburgh, Harris the #1

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada squashed any potential controversy about the team’s backfield room on Monday, saying that “Najee is our 1”. Despite running back JAYLEN WARREN’s big game andMore solid preseason, NAJEE HARRIS will remain the starting running back for the Steelers heading into the upcoming season. Fantasy owners should note, however, that Harris and Warren split reps down the stretch last season and will likely do so again this season. Less

Around the NFL: Jaylen Warren

A lot of the earliest No. 2 running backs off the board will be players expected to get plenty of work: AJ Dillon, and perhaps a second runner from teams like Detroit, New Orleans or Atlanta. But one of the more compelling No. 2s who will be selected later is Pittsburgh's Jaylen Warren.   more »

Factoid: Jaylen Warren

I was impressed by Jaylen Warren last year. Just an undrafted rookie, but he played his way onto the roster, won a backup job, then performed well with his limited opportunities.   more »

Steelers RB Harris misses Wednesday practice, RB Warren cleared to play

Pittsburgh Steelers running back NAJEE HARRIS missed Wednesday’s practice as he continues to deal with an oblique injury suffered in Monday night’s game against the Indianapolis Colts. Harris has yet toMore miss a game in his NFL career since being a first-round pick in 2021. While Harris’ status for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons remains iffy, fellow running back JAYLEN WARREN was a full participant on Wednesday as he works his way back from a hamstring issue. Warren said on Wednesday that he felt good and that he would return to game action when the Steelers face the Falcons this weekend. Less

Steelers RB Warren likely to see increased workload

Pittsburgh Steelers running back NAJEE HARRIS was a first-round draft pick and made the Pro Bowl as a rookie, while fellow running back JAYLEN WARREN was an undrafted free agent outMore of Oklahoma State. Despite the differing pedigrees, Harris has struggled this season and the Steelers running game ranks a lowly 27th in the league. Head coach Mike Tomlin indicated this week that the rookie Warren, who has run well in limited opportunities, is likely to see an increased workload through the remainder of the season. Less

Steelers taking deeper look at Harris injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers believe that running back NAJEE HARRIS re-aggravated the Lisfranc sprain he suffered during training camp in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, but the team is reportedly continuingMore to run tests to see if there is a deeper issue. Harris was seen after the game in a walking boot but he did not have a boot on in the facility when seen on Monday. If Harris does miss time, JAYLEN WARREN is listed as the backup on the depth chart. Stay tuned, fantasy owners. Less

Around the NFL: Undrafted rookie running backs

It's tough to make an impact as an undrafted rookie. Job 1 is to simply make an NFL roster after not being one of 250ish players drafted by 32 teams. Job 2 is to climb the depth chart. That's what Jaylen Warren is trying to do in Pittsburgh.   more »
