Factoid: Workhorse running backs

In the comments to an article about Jonathan Taylor last week, a reader asked if his heavy workload last year should be a concern for how he'll perform this year. Taylor carried the ball 332 times, one of two (with Najee Harris) 300-carry running backs last year.   more »

Steelers to lessen RB Harris’ workload this season

Pittsburgh Steelers workhorse running back NAJEE HARRIS indicated this week that he will be “taking some time off” this season as the team tries to lessen his workload. Harris added thatMore he wants to play “a lot” this season but he also understands why the Steelers want to be smart about his workload. Harris led all running backs in snaps and offensive touches as a rookie, rushing 307 times and catching 74 passes. Less

Around the NFL: Najee Harris

There have been several Najee Harris stories this offseason. First there was one about him gaining weight (a large workhorse back gaining weight in the offseason, go figure). Now there's one saying the Steelers are discussing reducing his role. OK.   more »

Steelers RB Harris up to 244 pounds

Pittsburgh Steelers running back NAJEE HARRIS said on Tuesday that he now weighs 244 pounds, which is up from the 232 pounds he weighed at his Alabama Pro Day in 2021.More While his weight is making headlines, Harris noted that he played last season at 240 pounds, so his current weight represents only a modest increase. With Harris expected to once again be the workhorse rusher in the Pittsburgh backfield, the extra weight and bulk may actually come in handy. Less

Factoid: Najee Harris

With Najee Harris, I like the workload. They give him the ball plenty, virtually guaranteeing he’ll put up good numbers if he can stay healthy.  more »

Factoid: Najee Harris

I'm a Najee Harris fan, and at times when I talked him up here it was commented that he was overrated. It's true that holes can be poked in his rookie season; perhaps he's not as good as I think he is. Perhaps.   more »

Fantasy News: Franchise running backs

We have been kicking around some the value of backs like Christian McCaffrey and Dalvin Cook – wondering if those guys are still uber-elite type prospects. In general with these kind of players, my preference is to go with a younger player. Guys can burn out in a hurry at this position.   more »

Factoid: Najee Harris

I expected more from Pittsburgh’s running game in 2021. They used a first-round pick on Najee Harris and talked about wanting to run the ball more, but it just didn’t happen. Only two teams ran for fewer yards.  more »

Steelers offense disappears in win vs. Titans

The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Tennessee Titans in real football on Sunday, but the fantasy outcome was likely a disaster for most owners. Pittsburgh star running back NAJEE HARRIS had justMore 26 total yards while lead wide receiver DIONTAE JOHNSON managed just 48 total yards. The only Steelers player to reach the end zone was BEN ROETHLISBERGER, who did so with his first rushing touchdown in three years. Less

Dynasty Leagues: Long-term RB rankings

If you’re in a dynasty league, what are you to make of D’Ernest Johnson? He was awfully impressive on Thursday night, and he’s going to be a free agent at the end of the season. Is some team going to sign him with the intention of making him their starter?  more »

Factoid: Najee Harris

The Steelers haven’t been able to get their running game going, but Najee Harris looks like a good fantasy option anyway. They’ve got him plugged into their passing game, and that makes him a reliable option for fantasy purposes (particularly in PPR formats).  more »
