Vikings RB Cook uncertain vs. Falcons

Minnesota running back DALVIN COOK appears to have dodged a serious groin injury but his status for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons is unclear. Cook’s MRI from Monday went “prettyMore well”, but head coach Mike Zimmer said that the team would see how he does this week before making any decisions. If Cook can’t play, fellow running back ALEXANDER MATTISON would take his place in the backfield. Less

The Minnesota Vikings are holding DALVIN COOK out of team drills as they try to reach a new contract agreement with the star running back. Cook could miss rest of regular season

Minnesota running back DALVIN COOK did not practice on Thursday as he deals with an additional injury to his left shoulder suffered in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. CookMore appears unlikely to play against the Green Bay Packers on Monday night, and he reportedly could be held out of the regular season finale against Chicago on December 29th. With backup ALEXANDER MATTISON also missing practice with an ankle injury, the Vikings could be down to third string running back MIKE BOONE. Less

Boone leads Vikings vs. Chargers

Who? Second year running back MIKE BOONE, that’s who. DALVIN COOK injured his shoulder again when he was twisted down and landed awkwardly on a third-quarter carry. The Vikings ruled CookMore out for the rest of the game, and he watched from the sidelines. With backup ALEXANDER MATTISON also out with an injury, Boone got the second-half action and scored his first two NFL touchdowns on runs of 9 and 3 yards. Less

Ian Allan: Thursday night recap

Coming into the Thursday night game, I saw Washington as the NFC’s version of Miami – a punching bag – but they’re not that bad. They were competitive in this game, and they were able to hang around against San Francisco on Sunday.  more »

Around the NFL: David Montgomery

Of all the exhibition performances I've watched so far, David Montgomery's stands out as one of the main highlights. He touched the ball just 7 times (one erased by a penalty), but 5 of them struck me as pretty impressive.   more »
