Bucs plan to release veteran TE Brate

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are planning to release veteran tight end CAMERON BRATE as part of an ongoing effort to become salary-cap compliant by the middle of the month. Brate, 31,More could test the free-agent market but it’s possible he simply retires instead. Undrafted out of Harvard in 2014, Brate finishes his Bucs career with 273 regular-season catches for 2,857 yards. His 33 regular-season touchdown receptions are third most in franchise history. Less

Bucs TE Brate carted off with neck injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end CAMERON BRATE was carted off the field on a stretcher in Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after a helmet-to-helmet hit in the third quarter. BucsMore head coach Todd Bowles said after the game that Brate has a neck injury but has movement in all his extremities. Brate was able to give a thumbs-up as he was leaving the field, and reportedly was planning to fly back with the team last night. Less

Arians excited to add Gronk to Bucs offense

Brate expects to be cleared for training camp

Tampa Bay tight end CAMERON BRATE expects to be cleared for training camp as he continues to recover from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip in January. BrateMore said he expects to miss the team’s offseason work as he continues to rehab his hip, but training camp is his goal. Less

Brate played through major injury

Tampa Bay tight end CAMERON BRATE reportedly spent the majority of the 2018 season playing with a torn labrum and bone fragments in his hip. Fortunately, Brate now has 8 months to recover and get ready for the Bruce Arians Era in Tampa Bay.
