Lions RB Gibbs has great expectations for 2023

Detroit Lions rookie running back JAHMYR GIBBS said this week that it is “most definitely” possible for him to surpass 1,000 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving this season. While Gibbs’More aspirations are admirable, fantasy owners should note that San Francisco 49ers running back CHRISTIAN MCCAFFREY was the only player to accomplish the feat last season. Additionally, Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that he might ease Gibbs into action in Thursday night’s season opener against Kansas City. Factoid: Travis Kelce

A popular theory that was kicked around during training camp involved Travis Kelce declining significantly. He was turning 33 in October, after all, and with Tyreek Hill gone, it would potentially result in more teams being able to take him away with double teams. That was the theory.   more »

I saw a news item yesterday talking about how there were three 1,500-yard rushers in the NFL this season, and none of their teams made the playoffs. It was making the point that having a top running back didn't necessarily translate into team success. It depends how you look at it.   more »
