Fantasy News: Derek Carr
Putting together the rankings for Week 1, Derek Carr came in a little lower than I was expecting. Nice player, and with good weapons around him, but I’m not confident he’ll put up numbers that move the needle. more »

Team projections: Lay of the land
The preseason is over and rosters have been trimmed down to 53, with the regular season just around the corner. An excellent time, then, to start locking down final forecasts for each of the league’s 32 offenses. more »

Factoid: Pocket passers
I get a little nervous with immobile quarterbacks. When a player isn’t doing anything as a runner, it makes it harder for him to stack up statistically against the more mobile players at the position. more »

Raiders sign QB Carr to three-year extension
The Las Vegas Raiders and veteran quarterback DEREK CARR agreed to terms this week on a three-year contract extension worth $121.5 million. The extension reportedly runs through the 2025 season and… More includes a no-trade clause. The new deal will rank Carr fifth among all quarterbacks in average annual salary, although he should be much less expensive to fantasy owners heading into the upcoming season. Less

Factoid: Derek Carr
Derek Carr hasn’t been a great passer around the goal line – not enough touchdowns for the yards he put up last year. But if he falls short again this season, it won’t be for a lack of weapons. more »

Packers trade WR Adams to Raiders for draft picks
The Green Bay Packers are trading star wide receiver DAVANTE ADAMS to the Las Vegas Raiders for a pair of draft picks. Interestingly, the trade reunites Adams with his college teammate… More at Fresno State, current Raiders quarterback DEREK CARR. The Packers were reportedly willing to match or exceed the money Adams wanted, but he preferred to play elsewhere. The deal will make Adams the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. Less

Raiders expected to extend QB Carr
The Las Vegas Raiders are reportedly preparing to move forward with a contract extension for veteran quarterback DEREK CARR that will keep him in town for the foreseeable future. Carr has… More one year left on his current contract, but a “short term extension” is said to be in the works. Carr and new head coach Josh McDaniels are reportedly excited to work together, with the soon-to-be 31-year-old quarterback coming off arguably the most successful season of his career. Less

Factoid: Derek Carr
Derek Carr keeps throwing for a bunch of yards, but he hasn’t thrown many touchdowns. In each of his last five games with over 340 passing yards, he’s thrown only 2 TDs. You would think if he were throwing for that many yards, there would be some games with 3-4 TDs in there. (That’s the kind of thing you notice when you have Carr in a fantasy lineup). more »

Factoid: Jon Gruden
Jon Gruden is gone, and that will have an adverse effect on the offense of the Raiders. Football is a mental game, and he was the most important decision maker on that franchise. While he didn’t step on the field, he was reasonable for most of the key decisions – drawing up game plans and calling plays. more »

Raiders QB Carr “good to go” vs. Dolphins
Las Vegas coach Jon Gruden said on Wednesday that starting quarterback DEREK CARR is “good to go” for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins. Carr started the week with a “questionable”… More designation due to an ankle injury suffered last weekend against Pittsburgh. He has obviously made good progress this week and was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice. Carr is off to a great start this season, leading the league in passing ahead of Arizona quarterback KYLER MURRAY. Less
