Bucs OC won’t rush starting QB decision

New Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Dave Canales indicated earlier this week that he is not concerned about an offseason quarterback competition between BAKER MAYFIELD and KYLE TRASK extending deep into trainingMore camp. Canales managed a similar situation last season in Seattle with quarterbacks GENO SMITH and DREW LOCK. Canales said that “quarterbacks preparing as if they are the starter for six months makes the entire team better in the long term”. Seahawks hoping to keep QBs Smith, Lock

Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback GENO SMITH and backup quarterback DREW LOCK are both scheduled to become free agents this spring. Seattle general Manager John Schneider reiterated this week that the SeahawksMore hope to re-sign both quarterbacks. Regarding Smith, Schneider said the team would “love to have him back”. Smith started all 17 games for the Seahawks, throwing 30 touchdowns and earning Pro Bowl honors.
