Patriots TE LaCosse out with ankle injury

New England tight end MATT LACOSSE suffered a sprained ankle during the team’s preseason opener against the Detroit Lions last week. The injury will keep him out of action in this Saturday’s exhibition game against Tennessee. The severity of LaCosse’s sprain and the timetable for his return remain unclear.

Patriots sign TE Kendricks

The New England Patriots signed veteran tight end LANCE KENDRICKS on Wednesday. Kendricks was a second-round selection way back in the 2011 NFL Draft, and he played last season with theMore Green Bay Packers. Kendricks, 31, joins fellow tight ends MATT LACOSSE, STEPHEN ANDERSON, BEN WATSON, ANDREW BECK, and RYAN IZZO on a roster that is sure to miss the retired ROB GRONKOWSKI. Less

Rob Gronkowski retired. Jacob Hollister was traded. Benjamin Watson is suspended the first four games, and Austin Seferian-Jenkins was released yesterday.
