Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell confirmed that tight end T.J. Hockenson will be out for the season due to the ACL and MCL tears he suffered on his right knee. The injury occurred during their Week 16 loss to the Detroit Lions.

The Minnesota Vikings agreed to terms with tight end T.J. HOCKENSON on a contract extension worth up to $68.5 million that will keep him in town through 2027. Hockenson was scheduledMore to be a free agent after the season, but he and the Vikings had been engaged in ongoing discussions about an extension. Interestingly, as the contract neared completion, Hockenson got more work in practice this week than he had in nearly a month. Vikings TE Smith Jr. returns to practice

Minnesota Vikings tight end IRV SMITH JR. returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time in two months after suffering a high ankle sprain in late October. The Vikings haveMore three weeks to activate Smith, who remains on injured reserve, or have him sit for the remainder of the season.
