Factoid: Kansas City

The game’s best quarterback will be getting at least one new notable wide receiver. That much is certain, after Kansas City’s Super Bowl winning offense sputtered for most of the season.   more »

Factoid: Rashee Rice

I like the look of Rashee Rice. He’s shown the most (by far) of Kansas City’s receivers, and I expect they’ll be asking him to do a lot more next year. With Travis Kelce being 34, they need to be prepared for other players to start picking up more of the production in their passing game.   more »

Fantasy Index Weekly: Super Bowl Preview: Kansas City

Overview: These teams have faced each other three times since Andy Reid and Kyle Shanahan have been running things, and Kansas City has won all three meetings. The highest-profile encounter was in Super Bowl LIV after the 2019 season, while the most recent was during the 2022 regular season.   more »

Andy Richardson: A Day of Football

I'm done picking against Kansas City. I guess I'm also short on having faith in Cinderella stories in general. We thought the Ravens would cruise on into the Super Bowl, and also that just maybe the Lions would keep their roll going. Instead it's Kansas City-San Francisco, again, and as I guess we should have known.   more »

Travis Kelce breaks Jerry Rice's record as Chiefs clinch SB LVIII trip

As proven throughout his career, Travis Kelce is best when the stage is bigger and the lights are brighter. He did not disappoint when the Kansas City Chiefs went on the road and defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.

Factoid: Elite tight ends

There are four teams left, and they all have difference makers at tight ends. I don’t think there’s ever been a stronger final four at the position.   more »

Fantasy Index Weekly: Championship Game Preview: Kansas City

Overview: Recent meetings have been higher scoring. Kansas City has won three of four since 2018, with 27-24, 33-28 and 34-20 wins, and a 36-35 loss in the most recent game (2021). Both defenses are much better now (1st and 2nd in points allowed during the season), reflected in the betting lines (suggesting a 24-21 Ravens win).   more »

Around the NFL: Cold weather

If the weather forecast is accurate, they’ll be playing in single-digit conditions in Kansas City on Saturday. Will that help to slow down those offenses?   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Week 10 FAAB report

I was trying to figure out whose performance in Week 9 I enjoyed more: the Vikings’ new quarterback Joshua Dobbs coming in and making his name known in Minneapolis for years to come, or rookie C.J. Stroud’s record-setting performance. Either way, it was a great week of football. Much like last week, some star-studded talent went on bye this week, so we’ll likely see some more great players lead the list again as they don’t have a fighting chance because they scored zero points during their bye. Now, let’s make the best waiver wire bids on the most chopped players going into Week 10.   more »

Scheduletron: Strength of schedule

Kansas City, remarkably, has scored only 2 TDs in three of its four games. But I don’t see that slump continuing for long – especially considering the team’s upcoming schedule.   more »
