WFT waives RB Love

The Washington Football Team waived running back BRYCE LOVE with a failed physical designation on Monday. Love was a college star at Stanford, destined for greatness in the NFL. Unfortunately, LoveMore tore the ACL in his right knee on the last play of his last college game. The WFT took a chance and drafted him in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but Love never appeared in a game for them. Less

Factoid: Bryce Love

Washington releases Bryce Love, pretty much extinguishing any faint hopes of him truly returning from the major knee injury he suffered his final season at Stanford. Unlikely that he shows up on an NFL roster again.  more »

Washington RB Love having impressive camp

The Washington Football Team has a running back corps with more questions than answers heading into the upcoming season, but second-year back BRYCE LOVE may be one to keep an eyeMore on. Love was selected in the fourth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft, but he missed his entire rookie season after suffering a torn ACL in his final year in college at Stanford. Thus far in training camp, Love has looked good, healthy, and like a possible surprise heading into the 2020 season. Less

Around the NFL: Any love for Love?

Derrius Guice was released recently, and so we spent some time here debating whether old man Adrian Peterson or rookie Antonio Gibson will be the key player in Washington's backfield. But there's yet another possibility (two if you want to count Peyton Barber) in second-year back Bryce Love.   more »

Around the NFL: Antonio Gibson

Now that Derrius Guice has been released and Washington's other running backs are lightly regarded veterans, it seemed time to take a closer look at rookie Antonio Gibson. No one will argue he has the most upside of the team's backs, and he's being drafted earliest -- at 5.12, if you can believe it, in one draft I heard of.   more »

Around the NFL: Washington Backfield

Washington released Derrius Guice yesterday. If you just heard the initial report you might have thought it was injury related, with his first two seasons having been basically wiped out, but in fact it was for domestic-related off-field stuff. There's a new starter now.   more »

Around the NFL: Tony Pollard

Tony Pollard has been pretty impressive in Dallas' first two preseason games. If Ezekiel Elliott thought staying away from the team would help his push for a new contract, it's possible he miscalculated. Pollard put up 51 total yards and a touchdown on 6 touches against the Rams last night.   more »

Factoid: Fourth-round running backs

There were some interesting running backs selected in the fourth round this year. Justice Hill (pictured) by Baltimore, Bryce Love by Washington, Benny Snell by Pittsburgh and Tony Pollard by Dallas. If there's an injury or two ahead of them, or they flash in training camp, maybe they make some rookie year noise. But probably not.   more »

Washington drafts RB Love, adds to crowded backfield corps

Washington raised eyebrows when the team drafted running back BRYCE LOVE in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. With ADRIAN PETERSON, CHRIS THOMPSON, DERRIUS GUICE, and SAMAJE PERINE allMore on the roster, it would seem like there is little room left for the rookie running back. Although Guice is said to be on track in his recovery from an ACL injury, the selection of Love was a surprise to many. Less
