Bucs designate WR Godwin as franchise player

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers designated wide receiver CHRIS GODWIN as their franchise player for the second year in a row after the two sides failed to strike a long-term deal. TheMore 26-year-old Godwin led the team last season with 98 receptions for 1,103 yards, while also scoring 5 touchdowns. Godwin will be among the NFL’s highest-paid receivers despite sustaining torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his right knee in December. Bucs head coach Bruce Arians said last week at the NFL scouting combine that Godwin was about 45 percent recovered from his injuries but clearly, he has a long way to go. Less

Bucs WR Godwin out for season with ACL injury

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver CHRIS GODWIN will be out for the remainder of the 2021 season after suffering a torn ACL in Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. GodwinMore suffered the injury early in the second quarter on a low tackle. It was a costly game for the Bucs, who also lost wide receiver MIKE EVANS and running back LEONARD FOURNETTE to hamstring injuries. The status of both Evans and Fournette has yet to be determined. Brady leads Bucs with 4 touchdowns vs. Falcons

The LEONARD FOURNETTE show was on display last weekend but TOM BRADY was front and center again this Sunday in Tampa Bay’s win over the Atlanta Falcons.
