Factoid: Caleb Williams

I’m not a big fan of rookie quarterbacks, but I think I’ll have some interest in Caleb Williams. He looks really good, and I like the situation he’s being dropped into.   more »

Around the NFL: Keenan Allen

Hey, we don't have to worry about Keenan Allen being underutilized in the Jim Harbaugh/Greg Roman run-focused offense. Because Allen won't be playing in it; he's been traded to the Bears. So there are different things we can worry about.   more »

DJ Moore surpasses 1,000 receiving yards

While the Chicago Bears have struggled to generate victories, DJ Moore has been superb in his first season with the NFC North squad. In their last game against the Minnesota Vikings alone, Moore’s 36-yard reception helped Cairo Santos drill the game-winning field goal to improve their mark at 4-8.

Andy Richardson: Thursday Night Recap

In the midst of all the talk about how lousy the Bears defense was, the fact that the Commanders also have significant problems in the secondary was kind of overshadowed. But when the Bears came to play and the Commanders didn't, those issues were magnified. Painful night for a couple of key Washington guys, and those of us counting on them.   more »

Bears offense looks much improved in preseason opener

Chicago quarterback JUSTIN FIELDS and the Bears starting offense played just two series in Saturday’s preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans, but they made their seven total plays count. Fields connectedMore with new WR1 DJ MOORE on a screen pass that went 62 yards for a score on Moore’s first reception with his new team. Shortly afterward, Fields bought time on third down and dumped a pass off to running back KHALIL HERBERT, who ran for a 56-yard touchdown. Less

Around the NFL: Darnell Mooney

Darnell Mooney's second season was cut short by an ankle injury, but he says he'll be ready to roll for training camp. The primary reservations aren't about Mooney's health, though, but the offense around him.   more »

Dynasty Leagues: DJ Moore

DJ Moore has consistently been one of the most frustrating wide receivers. He’s got too much potential to trade away for peanuts, but he hasn’t performed well enough to be anything more than a flex starter. With the trade to Chicago, there’s hope that the change in scenery will finally unlock Moore’s full potential. Proponents of this argument point to how similar his situation is to both Stefon Diggs in 2020 and A.J. Brown last year. But how similar are they and is this something you should rely on when investing in Moore’s future?  more »

Bears WR Mooney plans to “ball out” in return from ankle injury

Chicago Bears wide receiver DARNELL MOONEY was unable to build on his 2021 breakout season last year, playing just 12 games before fracturing his ankle. Mooney said recently that he expectsMore to be 100 percent by the start of the upcoming season, adding that he plans to “ball out” this season. Mooney was the No. 1 receiver last season, but DJ MOORE’s arrival changes the dynamic at wideout this year. If the pairing works out, it should help JUSTIN FIELDS progress as a quarterback and make for a more competitive offense in Chicago. Less

Panthers sign free agent WR Chark

The Carolina Panthers signed free agent wide receiver DJ CHARK late last week, as the team tries to replenish the wide receiving corps after trading former #1 wideout DJ MOORE toMore the Chicago Bears in the deal for the top overall pick in this April’s NFL Draft. The Panthers also added fellow wide receiver ADAM THIELEN and tight end HAYDEN HURST prior to signing Chark. Less

Factoid: DJ Moore

I like Chicago’s decision to obtain DJ Moore in that blockbuster trade involving the No. 1 overall pick. Carolina originally selected him with the 24th pick of the 2018 draft, and if teams knew how he would develop, he would have gone even earlier.   more »

Bears trade top pick, add WR Moore…and more

The Chicago Bears traded the top overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers, acquiring wide receiver DJ MOORE and four draft pics in the process. The picksMore the Bears reportedly will receive are in the first (#9) and second rounds (#61) this year, a 2024 first-round choice and a 2025 second-round pick. The Panthers, meanwhile, are expected to have their choice of rookie quarterbacks in April. Less

Around the NFL: DJ Moore

Big trade in the NFL yesterday, with the Panthers trading away their best offensive player and picks #9, #61 (acquired by trading away their other best offensive player, Christian McCaffrey), next year's No. 1 (which should be a really good pick) and the following year's No. 2 for the No. 1 overall pick in next month's draft. Lots to unpack here, so let's go.   more »
