Factoid: Top 5 Defenses, one year later
The Chicago Bears had a knockout performance a year ago, and they're the top defense on most boards for the 2019 season, as well. There was a story here discussing them over the week. Personally, I doubt I'll be drafting them anywhere, and doubt I'll be the first to select a defense in any league. Just too much year to year variance. more »

Bears kickers off to rough start
The Chicago Bears had eight kickers attempt a 43-yard field goal on the first day of the team’s rookie minicamp last week. Unfortunately, the results were not much better than the kick that ended the Bears season last year. Only two of the eight kickers converted on the attempt.

Bears defense falters on final drive
The Chicago Bears defense helped many fantasy teams this season but fell one play short on it’s final drive in Sunday’s playoff game against Philadelphia. The Bears stopped the Eagles three consecutive times from the 2-yard line before NICK FOLES threw a touchdown pass on fourth down.

Around the NFL: Cameron Meredith
The Bears put an original pick tender on restricted free agent wideout Cameron Meredith. Since Meredith was undrafted, they wouldn't get any compensation if another team signed him away. (For slightly more money, they could have put a second-round tender on him, making it a lot less likely another team would sign him.) Now the Saints have signed Meredith to a two-year, $9.6 million offer sheet. Chicago has a week to match. more »

The Tampa Bay Bucs announced that they would play host to the Chicago Bears as scheduled on Sunday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium. Chicago Bears wide receiver ALSHON JEFFERY has been suspended 4 games for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy.
