Guillotine Leagues : Week 10 FAAB report

I was trying to figure out whose performance in Week 9 I enjoyed more: the Vikings’ new quarterback Joshua Dobbs coming in and making his name known in Minneapolis for years to come, or rookie C.J. Stroud’s record-setting performance. Either way, it was a great week of football. Much like last week, some star-studded talent went on bye this week, so we’ll likely see some more great players lead the list again as they don’t have a fighting chance because they scored zero points during their bye. Now, let’s make the best waiver wire bids on the most chopped players going into Week 10.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Week 9 FAAB report

The Broncos beat Kansas City to end their eight-year losing streak against their divisional rival. If you were ever in the market for some KC talent, this is your week. Patrick Mahomes’ flu game wasn’t quite like Michael Jordan’s. A lot of quarterbacks got banged up as well, which affected not only their stock but the offensive pieces around them.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Week 8 FAAB report

A lot of crazy games and upsets in Week 7 of the NFL. The Ravens swooped in and beat the Lions, the Patriots picked on a struggling Bills team, and the Tyson Bagent led Bears team mauled the Raiders. We also had some craziness with the Atlanta Falcons not reporting Bijan Robinson’s illness, as they’re required to do. That event led to him being on the most chopped player list along with some other big names. I’m here to help you make the best waiver wire bid on the most chopped players going into Week 8.  more »

Guillotine Leagues : Week 7 FAAB report

Injuries are my least favorite part of football. It just seems that week after week, there are a plethora of injuries to discuss and go over. With the bye-apocalypse and a number of injuries to star players, I’m here to help you make the best waiver wire bid on the most chopped players going into Week 7.  more »

Guillotine Leagues : Week 6 FAAB report

Week 5 is in the books, and for lack of better terms, it was catastrophic. Multiple injuries to big-name players such as Justin Jefferson, James Connor and DeVon Achane. However, with injury, comes opportunity. I’m here to help you make the best waiver wire bid on the most chopped players going into Week 6.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Week 5 FAAB report

In Week 4, there were not a ton of injuries, but the bye weeks are now upon us. That adds a unique dynamic to bidding in Guillotine leagues – a place where we can take advantage of the market. I’m here to help you make the best waiver wire bid on the most chopped players going into Week 5.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Week 4 FAAB report

In Week 3, we only saw one major injury over the weekend, and that was to Chargers receiver Mike Williams. He was off to a hot start as the WR15 through three weeks. Nevertheless, I’m here to help you make the best waiver wire bid on the most chopped players in Week 3.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Waiver wire report

In Week 2, there were a lot of injuries that happened over the weekend, but none more impactful than Nick Chubb and Saquon Barkley – especially in Guillotine Leagues, where there’s more importance on the here-and-now. I’ll not only be going over whom to replace them with, but what to bid on each player.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : FAAB Strategies

Hopefully you made it another week further into your guillotine league journey without getting chopped. I got bit by the injury bug with J.K. Dobbins (pictured), but I managed to keep moving on. If you’re like me and your team made it, but you’re dealing with injuries, you’ll want to be more aggressive with your bids in Week 2. Two reasons: You’ve got a higher chance of being chopped with a star player going down, and if you get this star player in a winning bid off waivers, you get to start them for more weeks of the season.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Super Chop Leagues

Over the weekend, I drafted a $50 Super Chop guillotine league team over on guillotineleagues.com. In most ways, Super Chop leagues play like the regular guillotine format. Super Chop contests are comprised of 12 guillotine leagues, each with 12 teams, resulting in 144 total teams. If you win your league, you redraft against the other winners in late November. If you’re lucky enough to win it all, the payout is $3,000.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Guillotine Draft

A few weeks ago, I sent out an invitation to the 2023 Fantasy Index Guillotine League. First and foremost, thank you to everyone for commenting that they were interested, and a special thanks to those who participated in the draft. They made it tough on me. My team appears below, and we can now look back at what mistakes I made, what I would change, and what I did right.   more »

Guillotine Leagues : Guillotine Draft Tips

Guillotine Leagues are different from redraft, dynasty and best-ball leagues because on any given week, you could be eliminated from the league. Even if you have the perfect draft, you could still be eliminated in Week 1. Sometimes that’s the way the cookie crumbles. However, I’ve got five draft tips to help optimize your team and assist you in surviving longer in your guillotine league.   more »
