Around the NFL: Odell Beckham

Story this week that the Dolphins are interested in signing Odell Beckham. It would be an interesting landing spot, potentially, but it's fair to wonder if Beckham is still capable of putting up big numbers.   more »

Around the NFL: Rashod Bateman

I'm not sure I'm in on Rashod Bateman. The former first-rounder is entering his third season and might be Baltimore's top wideout, but there's not a great track record to latch onto. He's appeared in just 18 of a possible 34 games his first two seasons.   more »

Around the NFL: Zay Flowers

If form holds, there will be some notable rookie pass catchers. In the last 10 years, 35 wide receivers have finished with top-40 numbers in their first season. But I don’t think Zay Flowers is going to be one of those guys.   more »

Fantasy News: Odell Beckham

I was surprised when the Ravens signed Odell Beckham to a one-year contract worth $15 million guaranteed, with another $3 million available in incentives. Seems like a lot for a 30-year-old receiver who’s torn his ACL twice in the last three years. But I am warming up to the move.   more »

Around the NFL: Odell Beckham

The NFL never sleeps, and so the Baltimore Ravens made a significant move yesterday, adding veteran wideout Odell Beckham. He was reportedly going to meet with the Jets today, so Baltimore snuck in to sign him to a one-year contract, presumably well above what the Jets would have offered.   more »

Around the NFL: Odell Beckham

Odell Beckham is working out for teams in Arizona today, hoping to prove he's fully recovered from tearing his ACL in the Rams-Bengals Super Bowl more than a year ago. My initial reaction was skepticism, with Beckham 30 and well removed from his last big season. But that might be unfair.   more »

Around the NFL: Free agent wide receivers

There's not a lot going on in the NFL these days, so media types that need to say things speculate about what might happen. If you can throw in a few big, easily recognizable names, all the better. That's how Ian Rapoport generates a story about the Packers maybe signing one of the top free agent wideouts still floating around.   more »

Factoid: Robert Woods

The Rams signed Allen Robinson to a huge contract yesterday, and the initial thought was that it meant the team wouldn't re-sign Odell Beckham. But subsequent reports have the Rams fielding calls for -- or shopping -- another veteran wide receiver coming off a torn ACL, Robert Woods.   more »

Around the NFL: Allen Robinson

Reports of Allen Robinson’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. To the Rams, anyway. They signed him a three-year deal including almost $31 million in guaranteed money.   more »

Factoid: Rams wideouts

Odell Beckham did in fact tear his ACL in the Super Bowl, a tough blow to a guy entering free agency. He's said he wants to return to the Rams, and this will certainly keep his asking price down. Imagining him being on the field in an NFL game 7 months from now is pretty optimistic.   more »

Fantasy Index Weekly: NFC Championship: Los Angeles Rams

The NFC's top 3 seeds are gone, giving the No. 4 Rams this game at home. But the matchup isn't great. Even setting aside San Francisco winning six straight in the series, the 49ers have one of the league's best defenses: 4th in yards allowed, and 9th in points. The Rams averaged exactly 3 TDs per game during the season, and that looks like their ceiling this week.   more »
