Raiders QB Carr looking forward to new team for 2023
Las Vegas quarterback DEREK CARR said on Thursday that he did not envision his Raiders career ending the way it did, adding that he looks forward “to a new city and… More a new team”. Carr was benched for the final two weeks of the regular season, although he still remains under contract with the Raiders. The team is expected to try to find a trade partner for Carr in the coming weeks. Carr, however, can veto a trade and push for a release if he thinks that’s the better path for him to find his next football home. Less

Raiders bench Carr, elevate Stidham to starting gig
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels announced on Wednesday that backup quarterback JARRETT STIDHAM will be elevated to the starting job for the team’s final two games of the 2022… More regular season. The Raiders have apparently seen enough of DEREK CARR and plan to use the last couple games of the season to evaluate what they might have in Stidham. This will be the first career start for Stidham, who joined the Raiders through a trade from the New England Patriots where McDaniels was his offensive coordinator. Less

Factoid: Derek Carr
The Raiders on Sunday are hosting Houston. At first glance, that seems like a good situation for Derek Carr. The Texans have won only one game all year. But I’m not sure that he’ll get enough opportunities to air it out. more »

Fantasy News: Derek Carr
Putting together the rankings for Week 1, Derek Carr came in a little lower than I was expecting. Nice player, and with good weapons around him, but I’m not confident he’ll put up numbers that move the needle. more »

Team projections: Lay of the land
The preseason is over and rosters have been trimmed down to 53, with the regular season just around the corner. An excellent time, then, to start locking down final forecasts for each of the league’s 32 offenses. more »

Factoid: Pocket passers
I get a little nervous with immobile quarterbacks. When a player isn’t doing anything as a runner, it makes it harder for him to stack up statistically against the more mobile players at the position. more »

The Las Vegas Raiders and veteran quarterback DEREK CARR agreed to terms this week on a three-year contract extension worth $121.5 million. The extension reportedly runs through the 2025 season and… More includes a no-trade clause. The new deal will rank Carr fifth among all quarterbacks in average annual salary, although he should be much less expensive to fantasy owners heading into the upcoming season. Less

Factoid: Derek Carr
Derek Carr hasn’t been a great passer around the goal line – not enough touchdowns for the yards he put up last year. But if he falls short again this season, it won’t be for a lack of weapons. more »

Packers trade WR Adams to Raiders for draft picks
The Green Bay Packers are trading star wide receiver DAVANTE ADAMS to the Las Vegas Raiders for a pair of draft picks. Interestingly, the trade reunites Adams with his college teammate… More at Fresno State, current Raiders quarterback DEREK CARR. The Packers were reportedly willing to match or exceed the money Adams wanted, but he preferred to play elsewhere. The deal will make Adams the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. Less
