Saints sign QB Luton off Panthers practice squad

The New Orleans Saints signed quarterback JAKE LUTON on Tuesday off the practice squad of the division rival Carolina Panthers. Luton will join the Saints active roster behind fellow quarterbacks DEREKMore CARR, JAMEIS WINSTON, and TAYSOM HILL. The move suggests that Carr will not be available for the Saints game this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen has said that Carr will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis as he recovers from a shoulder injury, although he did not rule out the possibility that Carr could play against the Bucs.
